Air delivery

Air delivery

Air shipping is done in cargo planes or passenger planes, and here too there are two types of planes for transportation (wide body versus narrow body).

We will use air transportation when the level of urgency for the cargo is high since air transportation is considered faster than sea transportation (a matter of a few days compared to weeks at sea).

In air transport, there is a systematic and efficient tracking of the cargo - the airlines provide statuses on a regular basis for the location of the cargo.

Air freight is often considered safer and more reliable.

If so, air freight is not suitable for every type of shipment. Cargo with a high level of danger such as batteries, hazardous materials - the airlines will require to know the UN number of the cargo in order to obtain approval for air transport, generally by sending an MSDS.

Air transport is even considered to be significantly more expensive compared to sea transport, for example cargo with a high volume is better to be transported by sea as the calculation is different.

The calculation method: physical weight versus volumetric weight - for example: the delivery weighs 100 kg, but the dimensions of the package are 80*90*100 cm, when the calculation is the dimensions divided by 5000 or 6000 = 144 volumetric kg, which is higher than the actual weight and therefore This will be considered the CHARGEABLE WEIGHT
