Customs Clearance

Customs Clearance

Customs clearance in our company is done by skilled and veteran customs agents who have a long track record in classifying products and releasing them from Israeli customs.

The role of the customs broker is to represent the importer/exporter in front of the customs authorities and he has an interest in releasing the goods in the fastest time, while saving costs for the importer.

As part of his role, the customs broker is responsible for preparing the accompanying paperwork (supplier's invoice, bill of lading, details of packaging, market forms and regulatory approvals if required) ahead of time, classifying the products and preparing a calculation of the expected taxes that the importer will pay to the customs authorities.

As a result of this, we advise our customers to check the issue of import legality before bringing the cargo to Israel, since the import legality of each product is different.

There are products that are subject to strict regulation such as toys that require the issuance of standards or food products that require a food import license and food per product approval, etc.

There are products that are subject to customs duty.

The customs duty is a tax imposed on imports only, with its main purpose being to protect local production from competing imports.

Most of the imports into the State of Israel are exempt from customs duties and this is due to the trade agreements that Israel has signed with many countries that exempt the importer from paying customs duties.

The countries with which the State of Israel has signed are: the USA, AFTA, the Common European Market, South Korea, etc.

If the importer imports these products from the aforementioned countries, he can get an exemption from paying customs duty, and this if he has a market form (Euro1 or Euromed) that exempts him from paying this tax.

Every shipment arriving in Israel pays VAT, even in personal imports (does not include products worth up to $75).

Value added tax is a tax imposed on consumer goods in Israel, and it is a main source of income in the field of indirect taxation.

There are products whose classification they pay purchase tax.

Purchase taxes are imposed mainly on consumer goods, in particular durable goods such as: vehicles, cell phones and generational electronics.
